- Type 2 Diabetes Innovation
In the 1990s, Mader played a key leadership role in launching Glucophage (metformin) in the United States. Today, metformin remains one of the most widely used and foundational treatments for type 2 diabetes across the globe. - Breakthrough in Acute Care Biomarkers
In the early 2000s, Mader helped lead the explosive adoption of BNP biomarker point-of-care testing, advancing acute heart failure diagnostics and integrating rapid BNP testing into clinical practice guidelines. This success contributed to the $1.6B acquisition of San Diego-based Biosite Diagnostics in 2007. - Commercializing Emerging Life-Science Technologies
